Why animate a tactic at all?

Football is movement, and a static diagram asks the viewer to imagine it. Three arrows and a dotted line can describe a third-man run; watching the striker drop, the midfielder spin and the winger arrive at the same moment explains it. Coaches tell us animation is the difference between a team talk players nod through and one they remember on Saturday. Analysts and creators use it because a sequence that moves holds an audience's attention in a way a slide never will.

Build it stage by stage

The animation creator works the way you think about a pattern: picture by picture. Set the starting shape, add a stage, drag each player to where they end up, and the board fills in the movement between. Bend a run so it curves round the back of a defender. Drag the ball to stage a pass, pick its height and curl, and time it to arrive with the runner. Mark a dribble so the ball travels with its carrier, flag the goal so the sequence finishes properly. A whole pattern of play — build-up, trigger, overload, finish — is four or five stages, each one a saved picture you can also present on its own.

Real teams, real kits, your look

Start from a real fixture — the database covers more than 1,000 leagues — and both teams load with squads, names and numbers, so the animation is about the actual players. Kits, pitch design, marker style and labels are all customisable, and the 3D broadcast camera angle turns a flat diagram into something that looks like it came from a studio. Overlay a shot map or a heat map from the real match when data strengthens the argument.

Export it as video, or publish it live

One click exports the animation as an MP4, encoded in the browser with no upload and no waiting on a render farm. Add a title intro, a cover photo, sound effects and a recorded voiceover on the paid plans, or keep it clean for your own edit. Prefer to skip the file? Publish the play to the community library and it gets a page where anyone can press play, plus an embed code that drops the live animation into a blog or newsletter.
