How to play Champs-dle
- Read the clues: you're given the round, the opponent, a score hint and the formation of a hidden starting XI from a real Champions League knockout match.
- Guess any club and season in 5 tries — seasons are labelled by their starting year, so 2016 means the 2016/17 season.
- After each guess, a position lights up when your guessed squad shares a nationality with the hidden player in that spot, revealing that player's flag.
- Green means the two compatriots played together — they were club teammates at the same time. Yellow means the same nationality, but they never played together.
- Use the revealed flags to narrow it down and name the exact club and season before your guesses run out.

How do you play Champs-dle?
You're shown the round, the opponent, a score hint and the formation. Guess any club and season — after each guess, positions light up and reveal player flags based on nationality overlaps between your guessed squad and the hidden lineup.
What do the green and yellow colours mean?
A position turns green when the hidden player and a compatriot from your guessed squad were club teammates at the same time — they played together. Yellow means they share a nationality but never played together.
How are seasons labelled in Champs-dle?
Seasons are labelled by their starting year, so 2016 means the 2016/17 Champions League season.
